Wide Receiver Fundamentals
1) Getting Off the Line
You don't want to let the defender knock you off your route. The idea is to get past the defender and not let him push you parallel along the line of scrimmage.
You need to learn how to burst off the line and use a fake to get behind the cornerback.
One fake to use is the "head bob".
This is where you move your head to one side while you get your body moving straight or to the other side. You can also use a shoulder fake.
The next idea to understand is that a defender will eventually learn your fakes. So you need to mix it up and sometimes even employ double-fakes (fake one way, then the other, then move beyond the defender)...

Offensive Line Skills
The stances and offensive line blocking types you use will be determined by your offensive theory.
If you employ a lot of quick-attack plays, you'll probably teach the four-point stance and scramble blocking. If you pass
often, you may use the two or three-point stances.
The three-point stance is the most commonly used football stance for offensive line blocking.
The feet should be shoulder-width apart with the toes pointing forward. Usually right-handed players will have the right foot staggered back, toes even with the left instep (lefties reversed).
The next aspect of this football technique is to teach your offensive line players to bend at the knees, dropping the right hand as they squat.
The hand should be about a foot and a half ahead of the inside edge of the toes with the outside of the hand just inside the line of the right foot...

Your Coaching Philosophy
Here are five areas you must have a solid football coaching philosophy on:
- Offense
- Defense
- What to teach
- Scouting
- Organization
1) What is your football coaching philosophy when you have the ball on offense?
Are you a "gun-slinger"? Will your team possess an aggressive passing attack where you try to strike fast and hard and pile the points up?
Or will you have a "ground it out" style? Get a 10 point lead, play the field position game and then sit on the ball and play keep away with the opposition's offense.
2) What's your football coaching philosophy on defense?
Do you try to employ an aggressive style attack where you blitz often and gamble a bit?
Or do you play the "bend, but don't break" style where you're a bit more conservative and just try to limit the opposition to small gains, then force a punt?

Blocking Fundamentals
Part of the success for your football team is that you pick out the football blocking schemes that work best with your particular athletes. We'll go over how to teach the proper football blocking technique and also which offensive line blocking types work best.
You'll want to teach your offensive line players blocks such as the drive block, scramble block, trap block, double team, down-the-field block, etc. Let's get started:
1) Drive Block
The most basic of all football blocks.
It's important in our opinion to teach this football blocking technique to your offensive line players first but to not base your whole blocking scheme on it.
Unless you have phenomenal athletes on your line, you're going to see your players beat up quite often if they're trying to drive block one-on-one all game long.
We'll get to why that is in a bit. For now, let's focus on the drive block technique so you can teach it...
